Winchester is the location of the annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom
Festival, which has existed since 1924 and draws approximately 250,000
visitors to the area each year. It includes a carnival, the third
longest grand feature parade in the U.S., several dances and parties,
and the coronation of the Apple Blossom Queen.
Sports fans can enjoy the games of the 13-time champion Winchester
Royals, a team in the northern division of the Valley Baseball League.
Games are held at Bridgeforth Field throughout the summer.
Winchester's numerous city parks offer football and baseball fields,
hiking trails and walking paths, indoor and outdoor swimming, a
fantastic gym and a whole lot more. |
